1st LAR Realism Unit

The 1st LAR Realism unit is an Arma 3 milsim unit dedicated to emulating the real world 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. While we appreciate their history and organization, we are in no way associated with them or anyone in the United States Marine Corps. Any media or storylines on this site, in support of the 1st LAR Realism Unit, are entirely fictional and have no bearing on real persons, locations, or events.

Joining the 1st LAR

The following are the requirements for participation in the 1st LAR:

• A valid copy of Arma 3, and Arma 3 Apex
• An Arma 3 Player ID - how do I find my player id?
  
• Teamspeak 3 and a working microphone
• Able to attend weekly missions (exceptions may be granted on a case by case basis)

While the 1st LAR does not have a dual clanning policy, be aware that other groups do and applying to the 1st LAR may fall under their policy.
The following outlines the acceptable guidelines for a proper name, to fit to our realism policy:

• Names must use the Latin alphabet for ease of communication and logistics
• Names must be something one could reasonably find in a personnel directory or phone book
• Names may not be a historically significant name, or a name from popular culture (i.e. Rommel, Blazkowicz)

By applying, you also agree to our Realism and Respect policies:

Realism - The act of emulating a real military experience through role-play. When attending an official function or in-game function, you are expected to behave like your real Marine counterpart,  respecting the rank, order, and discipline of your role. The 1st LAR and all members strive to provide this realism in teamwork, tactics, and leadership during official capacities.  However, realism has its limitations and will be balanced with enjoyment for all members.

Respect - The 1st LAR and its members shall at all times be respectful to every other member. All members agree to not harass, threaten, invade the privacy of, or abuse any other member. Racist, bigoted, political or religiously charged content, and content illegal under United States law is forbidden in all gathering locations (forums, teamspeak, in game, etc).
The 1st LAR will respect the time and commitment of all members and work to provide a fun, enjoyable milsim experience to those involved.
